AI Training Series Seeing Higher Demand, GSA Says

An online training series for federal employees on artificial intelligence that started in September and continues through October has experienced an increase of four-tenths in registration, the GSA has said.

“As artificial intelligence technology becomes more widely available and becomes a key part of many products and services, it is crucial for governments to understand how to effectively use AI technologies while mitigating any risks they may pose,” the GSA said.

The series, which is free and open to anyone with a .gov or .mil email address, “aims to ensure that all participants, regardless of their role, are provided with the foundational knowledge they need to responsibly use AI to enhance government services and improve the lives of the public,” it said.

Tracks include:

* Acquisition, covering he fundamentals of AI procurement to understanding risk management and ethics in AI acquisition.

* Leadership and Policy, covering AI policy development, ethical leadership, and strategic planning and societal impacts of AI technologies.

* Technical, covering human-centered AI development, privacy and security concerns, and risk mitigation techniques.
