Attendance at the chief human capital officers council training academy has tripled in fiscal 2007 with over 300 participants — including CHCOs and designated associates – attending the bi-monthly training sessions, OPM has announced.
This year’s sessions have covered best practices in telework, getting a high return from investments in training, most efficient organizations, and the SES performance and assessment tool.
Last year only CHCOs could attend, but now they may bring three representatives.
"The forum the academy provides for sharing and disseminating cutting-edge information and best practices is one of the major successes of the CHCOC," said its executive director John Salamone.
"Now it’s filtering down into the appropriate human capital staff within the agencies," he said, adding that the council intends to continue the process throughout a new series this fall.
