The Office of Personnel Management is seeking applications for
the 2005 President’s Quality Award Program.
It said the criteria for the 2005 award have been changed to emphasize
demonstrated program results and the implementation of initiatives
in the president’s management agenda.
An OPM memo said the agency was continuing with two changes made
last year to strengthen the alignment between the PQA and the PMA.
The first is to recognize three separate award categories:
specific innovative and exemplary projects and practices; overall
agency achievement in each one of the five PMA initiatives; and,
overall agency management and management system integration.
The second is to make the scores given under the PMA a baseline
condition for submitting an application in each category,
meaning red scores would preclude applicants. Applications
are due on October 7. Award criteria and instructions are
available at www.opm.gov/pqa.
