However, employee satisfaction with supervision decreased from 45 to 42 percent, while satisfaction with organizational

communication dropped from 38 to 35 percent, and favorable views of leadership and quality dropped from 35 to 33 percent.

Well over half of the workforce — 56 percent — continues to have unfavorable views of job security and commitment to the workforce.

TSA said the survey would help the agency determine workforce priorities, identify best practices and develop action plans that address employee retention and incentives.

It said the 2004 survey in part gave rise to a new performance management system and career paths for transportation security officers, as well as a new career progression program with

new pay bands for security officers.
