$50 Million Funded To Pay for Brain-Injury Research

The Defense and Veterans Affairs departments are jointly funding a long-term study into the impact of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Joining VA and DoD in the five-year project are the National Institutes of Health, a consortium from academia led by Virginia Commonwealth University, and the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, Va. As many as two million veterans could stand to benefit from the endeavor, VA stated in a press release.
