Seven airmen died March 15 when an HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter crashed while on a mission in western Iraq. The Air Force issued a statement saying the crash did not seem to be the result of enemy activity. Several news reports indicated that the aircraft hit a power line.

The dead were identified as: Capt. Mark K. Weber, 29, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Capt. Andreas B. O’Keeffe, 37, of Center Moriches, N.Y.; Capt. Christopher T. Zanetis, 37, of Long Island City, N.Y.; Master Sgt. Christopher J. Raguso, 39, of Commack, N.Y.; Master Sgt. William Posch, 36, of Indialanic, Fla.; Staff Sgt. Carl Enis, 31, of Tallahassee, Fla.; and Staff Sgt. Dashan J. Briggs, 30, of Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.

O’Keeffe, Zanetis, Raguso and Briggs were assigned to the 106th Rescue Wing, Francis S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base, New York Air National Guard. Posch and Enis were reservists, assigned to the 308th Rescue Squadron, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. Weber was assigned to the 38th Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Ga.
