Air Force non-commissioned officers in unrestricted career fields who are affected by the NCO retraining program have until Sept. 3 to volunteer for training in new career fields. Those who do not respond in time could lose the chance to choose the new career fields they want. According to the Air Force Personnel Center, only 20 percent of the 1,400 NCOs who could be affected have volunteered for retraining.
