By: FEDweek StaffThe Air Force is taking steps to attract, train and commission cyber professionals. The newly established Cyber Direct Commissioning Program would reduce the training cycle and speed up the on-boarding process, and deliver these newly minted experts to the field more quickly than ever before.
“We want to use the [program] to tap into talent pools that we have not been able to access effectively,” said Gen. Leah Lauderback, deputy chief of staff for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Cyber Effects Operations.
Applicants would be required to hold advanced academic degrees, professional certifications, or industry experience that would be relevant to their Air Force jobs.
Applicants who wish to sign on this year can sign on via the Cyberspace Effects Operations Officer heading on the Air Force’s web site.
