The Air Force is eliminating eligibility to collect a selective reenlistment bonus (SRB) in 45 Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs). The list includes such jobs as aircraft loadmaster, remotely piloted aircraft sensor operator, airfield management, cyber systems operation and surety, engineering, journalist, mental health service, dog handler, and cryptologic language analyst. Notable exclusions from the list include combat control, airborne cryptologic language analyst, combat control, pararescue, and explosive ordnance disposal. Airmen in these and several other jobs will continue to qualify for the SRB. Air Force personnel managers made the change because of force trimming brought on by sequestration budget cuts. Complete lists of jobs that qualify and do not qualify for SRBs are available on the Air Force Personnel Center Web site at www.afpc.af.mil.
