U.S. planes and unmanned aircraft hit a camp in Somalia operated by the terrorist group al-Shabaab in Somalia March 6, the Pentagon announced. The organization is affiliated with al Qaida. The mission targeted al-Shabaab’s Raso Camp, after intelligence resources determined that it posed a threat to U.S. and friendly AMISOM (African Union Mission in Somalia) forces. Numerous media reports indicate the air strikes killed more than 150 terrorist fighters.
