Air Strike Hits al-Qaida Site

A March 22 air strike destroyed an al-Qaida training center in Yemen, the Pentagon announced. “Our initial assessment is that dozens of al-Qaida … fighters have been removed from the battlefield. This strike deals a blow to [their] ability to use Yemen as a base for attacks that threaten U.S. persons, and it demonstrates our commitment to defeating al-Qaida and denying it safe haven,” the Pentagon stated.
