
Paid and voluntary workers at Army childcare centers and related programs no longer will have to be vaccinated for Covid-19.
“Respiratory viruses like influenza (flu), Covid-19, and respiratory syncytial virus cause significant hospitalizations, especially during fall and winter,” the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness stated earlier this month in a memo to all hands.
However, the memo did urge all child and youth program employees “to stay current with vaccinations.”
Should a contagious disease outbreak occur, staffers who are not immunized would be temporarily restricted from all child and youth program activities.
