The House is considering a measure that would bar smoking at all health facilities operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Sponsored by Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, H.R. 1662 would require that VA clinics and hospitals become smoke-free within five years of enactment. The measure, which was introduced May 17, is now pending before the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
