The Blue Angels, the Navy’s flight-demonstration unit, has announced the names of those selected for the 2015 season. For the first time, the unit will have an executive officer – Cmdr. Bob Flynn, of Moorestown, N.J. The move to appoint an XO comes in the aftermath of a command investigation released earlier this year, which outlined an atmosphere within the Blue Angels that encouraged misogyny and sexual harassment. Other new members include: Navy Lt. Matt Suyderhoud, Lt. Andrew Talbott, and Marine Corps Capt. Jeff Kuss, (demonstration pilots); Marine Capt. Corrie Mays (events coordinator officer); Marine Maj. Mark Hamilton, Marine Capt. Katie Higgins (C-130 demonstration pilots); Navy Lt. Joe Schwartz (flight surgeon); and Navy Lt. Gregory Bollinger Jr. (supply officer). The newcomers will join returning members: Navy Cmdr. To Frosch, Lt. Cmdr. Nate Barton, Lt. Mark Tedrow, and Lt. Ryan Chamberlain (demonstration pilots); Marine Capt. Dusty Cook (C-130 demonstration pilot); Lt. Cmdr. Declan Hartney (maintenance officer); Lt. j.g. Phillip Harper (administration officer); and Lt. j.g. Amber Lynn Daniel (public affairs officer.) The schedule of air shows is available on the unit’s Web site, http://www.blueangels.navy.mil.
