The commander of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Va., has fired the installation’s senior Navy enlisted advisor. Capt. Frank E. Hughlett fired Master Chief Petty Officer Yves Raynaud Feb. 24, for “loss of confidence in his ability” to perform his job. Hughlett assigned Senior Chief Petty Officer Johnlyn Bolden to serve as acting command master chief. The Navy’s official announcement of Raynaud’s firing did not cite specific reasons why he was sacked. Subsequent media reports indicate Hughlett made the decision after a captain’s mast unveiled allegations that Reynaud was involved in an extramarital affair.
