Service members and civilian employees inbound to Hawaii can expect delivery delays on household goods (HHG) now through September, according to the Naval Supply Systems Command. Transformation initiatives by the Army, resulting in a 20 to 25 percent increase in the volume of household goods shipments in and out of Hawaii, are the reasons cited for the delays. The message advises Defense Department military and civilian employees who will be moving to Hawaii this summer to contact the Joint Personal Property Shipping Office (JPPSO) at Pearl Harbor immediately upon arrival to arrange for direct delivery of their HHG, avoiding delays due to shortages in storage and carrier capacity. Sailors who would like to check on the status of shipments can visit http://ebiz.pearl.fisc.navy.mil/jppso/owa/pp.menu or they can contact JPPSO by calling (808) 473-4497 or e-mailing to FISC_PRLH_JPPSO@navy.mil.
