The Pentagon has released details of revisions of the "Don’t ask, don’t tell" law, which addresses conduct of homosexuals who serve in uniform. Inquiries into homosexual conduct must now be initiated by an 0-7; previously, any commander had the authority. Service members are still subject to separation if they:

* Engage in, attempt to engage in, or solicit another to engage in a homosexual act;

* Make a statement acknowledging homosexuality;

* Marry or attempt to marry someone of the same sex.
