TRICARE is advising beneficiaries stationed in Germany that a law there would hinder the military health-care agency’s ability to deliver mail-order prescriptions. Although the German government passed the law in 2006, the country is only now beginning to enforce it with regards to TRICARE deliveries. As it stands, TRICARE said in an Oct. 4 announcement, Germany is ordering the U.S. Postal Service to stop deliveries of prescription medications to APO and FPO addresses in the country beginning Jan. 1. TRICARE is working on a plan to ensure that prescription-drug deliveries will not be interrupted. The German law will permit medication deliveries into the country from other European Union nations.
