Sailors have until 5 a.m. Jan. 22 to apply for permanent-change-of-station (PCS) orders through the Web-based Career Management System Interactive Detailing (CMS/ID) program. The site is available at https://www.cmsid.navy.mil, or by clicking the CMS/ID link at www.npc.navy.mil. Sailors then can review advertised sites and apply for as many as five jobs – either on the Web sites, or through their command career counselors. Though detailers will try to fill open slots based on sailors’ first preferences, fleet-readiness plays a significant role in such decisions.
