The Marine Corps plans to shift the aircraft of active Marine Light Attack Helicopter 467 (HMLA-467) to reserve status, Seapower Magazine reported Feb. 23. Under the plan, HMLA-467 will be deactivated sometime within the next year. Its inventory, consisting of UH-1Y Venom, AH-1W Super Cobra and AH-1Z Viper helicopters, will move to HMLA-775. That unit will activate sometime next year as a reserve squadron. The move comes as the Marine Corps downsizes to 182,000 Marines, Seapower reported.
