The Marine Corps is testing an unmanned ground vehicle, which someday could enhance mission capabilities on the battlefield. The Ground Unmanned Support Surrogate, under development by TORC Robotics of Blacksburg, Va., could reduce troops’ exposure to enemy fire, lengthen supply lines, the transport wounded, and streamline resupply operations as well. The testing is taking place at the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory at the Kahuku Training Area in Hawaii.
