The Marine Corps is advising deployed Marines who want to improve their Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT) scores to stay away from some refresher courses offered by other armed services. Tests that contain "actual test material," including GT Predictor, GT Improvement, and ASVAB Prep, are out of bounds, according to MARADMIN 081/11, released Feb. 3. "Marines should not enroll in these courses offered by other services if they contain any references to the AFCT or are intended to prepare students for taking the AFCT," the announcement stated. Instead, Marines should refer to any of several available study guides, including "Peterson’s On-Line Academics Skills Course," or any of the several ASVAB guides available at libraries.
