The Army has stationed some of its best units in Europe and stands ready to act if necessary, Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville said.

Speaking at a March 8 event hosted by the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA), McConville described how recent challenges have forged a service consisting of “problem solvers” who can handle any mission at a moment’s notice.

“We don’t decide when we go,” McConville said, as reported by AUSA. “When it’s time to go, we go with the Army we have.”

The service can expect to have access to 24 modernization systems by next year, McConville said, adding that industry would play a key role in ensuring that they arrive on time.
