McKeon To Retire

Rep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon, the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, is retiring. The 11-term Republican made the announcement Jan. 16, noting that his service on behalf of the nation’s armed forces would be a high point of his tenure on Capitol Hill. “Serving our military men and women was the great highlight of my 20 years in Congress,” McKeon said. “Their fight is my fight. Every day I do my best to faithfully do my duty to them and to our country. We are blessed with the finest military that history has ever known.”
