Navy Course Teaches Deckplate Leadership

The Center for Naval Leadership Learning Site at Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck Annex is offering a Work Center Supervisor Leadership Course for Sailors to improve supervisory and management skills. Subjects include Navy leadership, professional interactions, human capital, planning, mission and vision. Ship’s Serviceman 2nd Class Lorenzo Martin, a record keeper supervisor assigned to USS Nicholas (FFG 47), said "Prior to attending this class, I wasn’t sure which techniques to use when training my junior guys. By doing the group exercises and getting involved with the detailed demonstrations during the course, I have learned more than one way to handle different situations I may encounter throughout my career."
