By: FEDweek StaffThe Navy is holding off on a plan to require all sailors to use a government charge card to pay for permanent-change-of-station (PCS) moves. Military.com reported that the decision applies only to junior service members. Officers in the rank of lieutenant commander (0-4) and above, and enlisteds in the rank of chief petty officer (E-7) and above, can still use their government cards.
While government-provided charge cards have been available for years, the decision to make their use mandatory has encountered resistance among the ranks, Military.com reported. The Navy is taking the complaints into consideration and will formulate a new path forward once a suitable plan is reached.
