Navy Merges SK, PC Ratings

The Navy has merged the storekeeper and postal clerk ratings into the single new logistics specialist (LS) rating. All SKs and PCs on active duty, and those reservists E-6 and above, will wear the LS rating by Oct. 1, 2009. Reserve sailors in pay grades E-1 through E-5 will make the change by April 1, 2010. Logistics specialists will wear the rating badge now worn by storekeepers. Postal clerks who will retire between Oct. 1, 2009 and Sept. 20, 2011 may continue to wear their PC ratings badges, but their records will reflect the logistics specialist rating.
