Reserve sailors for the first time can serve as recruit division commanders. The Navy opened its 13-week recruit division commander school to the first classes of reservists recently. When they complete the curriculum – which is no different from that which active-duty sailors must pass – the new RCDs will be qualified to train recruits at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
