More than 50,000 Navy officers and sailors, including nearly every woman in uniform, can expect to receive an invitation to take part in its biennial Pregnancy and Parenthood Survey. The data will help the service adjust its present policies on both matters. Survey topics include family care plans, the impact of individual augmentee assignments, single parenthood, sexual health training, family planning, birth control, and pregnancy. The survey will remain open until the end of March. While respondents will have to log into a Web site to take the survey, identifications will be deleted and all results will be anonymous.
