The Navy is terminating its plan to adapt the Service Dress Khaki uniform. Instead, officers and sailors are encouraged to wear Service Dress Blue uniforms during events where coats and ties are appropriate, or when other uniforms are not prescribed. The decision to get rid of the Service Dress Khakis was based upon assessments of numbers sold, fit, durability, appearance, and costs to individuals.
