The Air Force activated its newest combat support and services unit during a Jan. 2 ceremony at an unnamed air base in Southwest Asia. The 586th Expeditionary Support Squadron, comprised of 50 airmen, expects to be fully operational at four different sites near areas of combat operations by July. The unit is part of the 650-member 586th Air Expeditionary Group.
