New Barracks Opens in Bahrain

The Navy opened a new barracks at its Bahrain Support Activity Oct. 3, which would accommodate 450 personnel – primarily second-class petty officers. Junior sailors are expected to move into the new facility as soon as they arrive for their tours. The Navy expects to save roughly $940,000 each month that otherwise would be allotted for temporary lodging allowance and per diem costs.
