Service members who have been medically separated since the war on terror began on Sept. 11, 2001, and wish to challenge the disability ratings they have been assigned, have an avenue other than the boards for corrections of military or naval records from which to seek redress. The newly created Physical Disability Board of Review will consider cases of such service members, provided they have disability ratings from either the Defense or Veterans Affairs departments of 20 percent or less, and are not eligible for retirement. To find out more about the review process, including application information and a more detailed comparison between the PDBR and the BCMR/BCNR, members of all armed services should contact: SAF/MRBR; 550 C Street West, Suite 41; Randolph Air Force Base, Texas 78150-4743 or visit www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/604044p.pdf .
