Good students in military families again could be eligible for awards of $2,500, $1,500, $1,000 or $500. The Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) will draw the names of the winners from a pool of full-time students who hold at least a B average or equivalent.

Young scholars who want a shot at the money will need to bring proof of their good grades – either in the form of a report card or some other performance document – to any Navy Exchange store. They also will have to fill out an application. Once all that is complete, entrants will receive a $10 coupon good for any purchase of $20 or more at the exchange.

Eligibility extends to dependent children in grades 1 through 12 of active-duty service members, reservists and military retirees, as well as civilian Defense Department employees. Each youngster can apply only once per grading period.
