The Pentagon is dismissing outright any suggestions that so-called unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) exist. The findings are laid out in a report by the internal All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), as requested by Congress last year.

In essence, the findings indicate there is no evidence to support stories that either the federal government or private industry are hiding “off-world technology and biological material,” the Defense Department stated in a press release.

“To date, AARO has found no verifiable evidence for claims that the U.S. government and private companies have access to or have been reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology,” the release stated, likely inspiring ET enthusiasts to parse the text for alternative meanings, innuendo.

Additionally, the agency said there are no government investigations, academic-sponsored research, or review panels in existence that have confirmed any such activities. The phenomena that have surfaced through past unsubstantiated reports have been found to stem from misidentification of ordinary objects, it said.

The AARO based its conclusions on research of both classified and unclassified documents dating back to 1945, as well as numerous interviews – many of which were conducted in collaboration with intelligence agencies.

The agency added that it will produce another report that will focus on analyzing information gathered since the beginning of last November. Investigators will continue to focus on “a rigorous and scientific approach,” free of preconceived notions, into claims that “off-world” technology found by the government and industry is being hidden from the public.

“As the AARO has said before, they will follow the evidence where it leads, wherever it leads,” the statement said.
