Officer Charged With Espionage

The Navy has charged a Taiwan-born officer with espionage. CNN reported that Lt. Cmdr. Edward Lin, a flight officer, was arrested eight months ago. CNN learned of the charges after information about Lin’s arrest only recently became public. It is unclear whether Lin is charged with spying for either Taiwan or China, according to the report. Lin is being held at the Navy brig in Chesapeake, Va., pending a decision whether or not to refer his case to court martial.
