The attacks destroyed five ISIL Humvees, an armed vehicle, a checkpoint, and a bunker near Haditha, according to a news release by U.S. Central Command. The Mosul dam attack damaged an ISIL Humvee. “We conducted these strikes to prevent terrorists from further threatening the security of the dam,” Pentagon spokesman Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby said.

MC Alters Domestic-Abuse Reporting Process Family advocacy personnel now have 15 days after initial entry of reported incidents to enter any and all reports of alleged child and domestic abuse into a service-maintained registry, the Marine Corps announced Sept. 14. The guideline, outlined in a service-wide administrative message, requires that such reporting must take place before any incident determination committee (IDC) meeting takes place. Also, IDC meetings must be recorded no later than five working days from the incident report. Family advocacy personnel must enter an incident status determination (ISD) into the registry within 60 working days of receiving an incident report. Headquarters Marine Corps will review all such information as well. Marine Corps leadership made the change to standardize and streamline collection and analysis of child and domestic abuse incidents.
