U.S. Central Command is reviewing the results of an investigation into the Oct. 3 bombing of a hospital operated by Doctors Without Borders in Kunduz, Afghanistan, Foreign Policy magazine reported Jan. 15. Army Special Forces soldiers who called in the airstrike and the commander of a special-operations task force in Afghanistan drew particular scrutiny, according to Foreign Policy. 42 persons died and more were wounded in the attack, carried out by an Air Force AC-130 gunship. The report also called into question the leadership of Army Maj. Gen. Sean Swindell, who commands U.S. and NATO special-operations forces in Afghanistan, and Air Force Maj. Gen. Scott West, who oversees air combat operations there.
