All components of the active and reserve force either met or exceeded recruiting goals through June, for the fiscal year that began last Oct. 1. The active Navy reported 24,854 new accessions; the active Marine Corps, 18,391 accessions; the active Air Force, 21,332 accessions; the Navy Reserve, 5,841 accessions; the Air National Guard, 6,453 accessions; and the Air Force Reserve, 6,458 accessions – 100 percent of each component’s goal. The active Army, with 42,538 accessions, the Army National Guard, with 36,508 accessions, the Army Reserve, with 19,918 accessions, and the Marine Corps Reserve, with 6,928 accessions, all exceeded projected recruiting goals. Retention remained strong for each component.
