Working in tandem with the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, VA researchers in Houston have determined that aspirin could help prevent colon cancer. Their research showed that aspirin “blocked interaction between platelets and cancer cells,” thus preventing the onset of the disease. More research is needed, they say, to determine how aspirin could work as a preventative for other forms of cancer.
