Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Charles H. Keating IV, a SEAL, was killed in action May 3, the Pentagon announced. Keating, of San Diego, was operating roughly two miles behind the forward line of troops at the time. Keating and his comrades were fighting against “at least 125 enemy fighters,” in one of the larger such battles in recent memory, witnesses said. No other U.S. forces were injured, and the enemy eventually was repelled.
