In 2006, U.S. citizens will elect 34 senators, the

entire House of Representatives, 37 state governors,

and hundreds of state and local officials. The

primaries begin in March, with the general election

on Nov. 7, 2006. Overseas voters can register and

request an absentee ballot using a redesigned Federal

Post Card Application (FPCA). The form is available

from their unit or installation voting assistance

officer, U.S. embassies and consular offices, and

many local civic and overseas groups. Voters also

can download it from the Federal Voting Assistance

Program (FVAP) at www.fvap.gov. They should send the

completed FPCA to their local election official in

their legal voting residence, who will be responsible

for sending an absentee ballot. For assistance, visit

unit or installation voting assistance officers, U.S.

embassy or consular offices, or contact the FVAP staff

at vote@fvap.ncr.gov or by telephone on any toll-free

international phone numbers listed on the Web site.
