Units Picked for Afghanistan Rotation

Three Army units will deploy to Afghanistan sometime this fall as part of the regular rotation of troops, the Pentagon announced July 23. Included are the 1st and 3rd Brigades, 101st Airborne Division, with roughly 1,900 soldiers, and the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, with roughly 1,725 soldiers. The 101st units are based at Fort Campbell, Ky.; the 82nd unit is based at Fort Bragg, N.C.
