More than two million veterans have received health care under the Veterans’ Choice Program since it began nearly two years ago. Under the program, eligible veterans have more options to seek treatment from community providers – particularly when Department of Veterans Affairs-run facilities are either too far or too backlogged to provide timely service. The network of civilian providers now sits at 350,000, and payments to them are timelier than ever, according to VA.
