The Veterans of Foreign Wars has set up a mechanism by which donors can provide funds to be used to help service members and veterans who were displaced by Hurricane Sandy earlier this month. “Any money received will be used for this purpose and should there be a surplus, it will be held in reserve for future disasters as was done with the VFW’s Katrina Fund," the organization stated on its Web site. Donations can be made online at https://www.vfw.org/oms/donate. Mail-in donations can be addressed to: Quartermaster General, c/o VFW, 406 W. 34th St., Kansas City, MO 64111.
