Airmen in overstaffed career fields have until Sept. 17 to accept voluntary retraining or face involuntary separation. So far, only 46 percent of all affected non-commissioned officers have stepped forward to take advantage of the 2011 NCO Retraining Program, Air Force officials said Sept. 3. Those who do volunteer will have their applications processed on a first-come, first-served basis; those who do not will be placed into new Air Force specialty codes where the they are most needed. Airmen who do not qualify for any remaining specialty codes could face separation. The master vulnerability list is published on the Web at https://w20.afpc.randolph.af.mil/afpcsecurenet20/.
