Roughly 580,000 service members are being asked to take part in an independent survey of their workplace experiences. The non-partisan, non-profit RAND Corporation is conducting the survey, which is voluntary. “No one at the Defense Department will ever see how an individual service member responds,” the Pentagon said in an Aug. 18 announcement. Questions will focus upon workplace relations, safety, professionalism, and the impact they have upon training, justice and services. RAND plans to release a report encompassing the survey’s results sometime next May.
