Federal Manager's Daily Report

Accomplishments in management were among the achievements of a dozen federal employees chosen for the annual Arthur S. Flemming Award, a top recognition named for a federal employee.

Winners are chosen after nominations by their agencies based on work performance, leadership, support for social equity and potential for continued excellence; nominees must have between three and 15 years of federal service.

Honorees cited for leadership were involved in management of intelligence satellites, IT standards, prevention of tobacco use by youth, and controlling emissions from power plants. Other categories include applied science and engineering, basic science and legal achievement.

Details are on the site of a sponsoring organization, the George Washington University Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration. Awards will be presented in June.
