Federal Manager's Daily Report

The Mobile Work Exchange, a federally-focused teleworking advocacy group, has announced that the "telework week” it sponsors annually drew over 136,000 participants worldwide this year and saved $12.3 million in commuting costs.

The group – formerly the Telework Exchange – said that by working from home participants avoided 7,892 tons in CO2 emissions and saved 665,936 hours by not commuting to their normal places of work.

Participating organizations all reported equal or better productivity while the event took place, according to the Exchange, which also noted that federal participation increased by 66 percent from 2012.
