OPM has told agencies to report on their compliance with the Disabled Veterans Affirmative Action Program requirements in fiscal 2016 and to certify that a compliance plan is in place for fiscal 2017.
The DVAAP requires nearly all agencies to have affirmative action programs for the recruitment, employment, and advancement of disabled veterans.
“The overall analysis of DVAAP Accomplishment Reports submitted for FY 2015 show positive results, reflecting connectivity between programs areas, approaches, and commitment to enhancing agency programs. Additionally, our review of agency FY 2016 DVAAP Plans shows an overall need to clearly outline the methodology that will be used to monitor, review and evaluate agency DVAAP programs for the upcoming fiscal year,” a memo says.
Due to a large turnover of DVAAP program managers since the last reporting call, OPM sent fillable forms for agencies to use. “Agencies with operating components and field installations should ensure that important and pertinent information from their operating components and field installations are integrated into the agency submission,” it says.
